“Magic is what happens between ordinary and extraordinary.”
— Lauren Bussey
For most of my life, I felt like I lived between worlds.
I was equally drawn to creativity and problem solving, beauty and structure,
artistry and precision. I never seemed to fit neatly into one category,
yet I found I could connect with people from all walks of life.
Years later, I realized that is exactly what prepared me for the work I do today.
At Lauren Bussey Designs, I specialize in bridal alterations, couture fit, and complex
garment transformations. Brides often come to me after being told a dress
cannot be altered, cannot fit correctly, or cannot become what they envision.
I see those moments differently.
Where others see limitations, I see possibilities.
Where others see a problem, I begin looking for a solution.
For more than two decades, I have helped brides, pageant contestants, mothers,
and professionals transform garments into something uniquely their own.
Along the way, I discovered that my work was never really about
fabric, seams, or measurements.
It was about transformation.
A dress arrives as a garment.
A bride leaves with confidence.
That moment—when a woman sees herself in the mirror and finally recognizes
the version of herself she hoped to become—is why I do what I do.
Clients often call me their fairy godmother.
Not because I perform magic.
Because I help create calm where there is stress, confidence where there is doubt,
and solutions where there once seemed to be obstacles.
That same philosophy led to the creation of Atelier to Aisle™,
my wedding day wardrobe concierge service. After spending years helping brides
prepare for the wedding day, I realized many needed support beyond the fitting room.
Today, I provide on-site wardrobe management, dressing assistance,
emergency repairs, bustling, steaming, and behind-the-scenes support
so brides and their families can focus on enjoying the day
instead of managing the details.
Whether I am fitting a gown, solving a wardrobe emergency, or standing beside a bride
moments before she walks down the aisle, my purpose remains the same:
To help people move from ordinary to extraordinary.
Because magic is what happens between the two.
